A member who has been doing research within the last 20% of his or her life so far, is qualified to vote for the Assembly. These members form the electorate. Other members are not qualified for the electorate, like being retired or student, but are still enough connected to research in order to partake in the discussion and organisation of wndash.
You can apply for:
- Member of the Electorate
- Member not in the Electorate - still a partaking member but not in the electorate
- Supporter (no member) - e.g. a donor or someone who does a recommendation
- Guest - visiting this website to learn more about the initiative.
You can indicate:
- Active participation - you may be willing to partake in e.g. official functions, committees; voting members can be candidates for election in the assembly
- Passive membership or support - e.g. a voting member may choose to only vote once a year and concentrate on research, or a supporter gives a one-time recommendation, or a donor sets up a scheme of monthly donations.
Most voting members will concentrate on their research (passive voting members), while the organisation of wndash may tend to be run by researchers at the end of their career (active non-voting members).
